About Newcastle upon Tyne

Newcastle-Upon-Tyne is located in the North East of England, with local residence frequently referred to as ‘Geordies’ due to their Northern English dialect.The Tyne Bridge that stretches over the River Tyne is probably the most well-known landmark in the area. Another famous sight is the tilting Gateshead Millennium Bridge which links Newcastle-Upon-Tyne with neighbouring Gateshead.The city has two universities, namely Newcastle University and Northumbria University, and is also known for its vast coal production, illustrious sporting heritage and buzzing nightlife scene.
